Esko Hockey receives grant from Northland Foundation

Another generous community partner has stepped forward to help us in in our efforts to recover from last June's flood. The Northland Foundation has donated $1,000 to Esko Hockey to help us rebuild the Hockey Shack. We are so thankful to the Northland Foundation for its commitment to our region and helping kids succeed.
MN Power Donates to Esko Hockey
There's power in these Mites! A huge thank you to Minnesota Power/ALLETE for its generous donation of $1,500 to help rebuild the flood damaged Esko Hockey Shack. At the hockey kick off party earlier this month, Kevin Koskela, Engineer II at Minnesota Power presented a check to Steve Lanthier, President of Esko Youth Hockey. We are so grateful to Minnesota Power for its strong community support.

Welcome to Esko Youth Hockey, where we help kids, ages 4-9, learn to skate, followed by stick handling, shooting and passing skills. Most of all, we encourage our young players to have fun on the ice as we share our love of the great game of hockey. At this level, we don’t keep score. Every child is a winner just by participating.


Boys and girls on our Mite 1 and 2 hockey teams, and in our Learn to Skate program develop skills in a supportive environment. We promote positive qualities including persistence, self-control, tolerance, respect for authority, encouragement of teammates, concentration on tasks and cooperation.
